这段时间有些迷茫，看似和世界杯有关，但心里边很清楚这不是原因。我开始觉得应该好好考虑一些事情了，一些我一直不愿意去面对但又不得不面对的事情，这些日子想了很多很多，就连白头发也多了几根，始终都是要有所行动的吧……

是不是男人快到三十的时候都会这样……哈哈

一个模仿 Rails day 的编程竞赛，只要在 24 小时之内使用 CakePHP 完成一个应用，你将有可能得到很酷的嘉奖，当然你要在众多的竞争者中胜出才行，另外具体什么奖品没公布，貌似连 sponsor 都还没有……

Things are really starting to heat up in the kitchen over at CakePHP as they announce their first (annual?) Baking Day "24 Hour coding contest". While the ingredients list in incomplete for Baking Day we do know that it contain equal measures of of inspiration, hard work, teamwork and don't forget to mix in a heaping helping of the secret ingredient, CakePHP.

I am repeated aggravated by so called “reputable” people in the PHP industry marginalizing and downplaying PHP5 in favor of the ever aging and antiquated PHP4.

And, I'm not talking about small applications. I'm talking about a complete online fantasy sports systems. Content and product management, e-commerce, integration systems and many custom modules for very large companies in the construction and industrial manufacturing industries. Company names that your kids probably know, but names that probably shouldn’t be mentioned in my little rant here out of respect. [....]

A major challenge of Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax)-driven Web sites is the lack of a Back button. We will use JavaScript to create a history stack for the Ajax photo gallery built in Part 1 of this two-part "Developing PHP the Ajax way" series. This history stack will closely mirror the history utility found in Web browsers, and it will be used to provide Back, Forward, and Reload buttons for the application.

很有意思的统计数据，一共有 1500 万个服务器参与了调查：

• 互联网网站中，PHP 占据了 35.33%；
• PHP 4.3.10 竟然是使用最度的 PHP 版本，不过到六月份，PHP 4.4.2 将取代这一位置；
• PHP 5.1.2 是 PHP5 中使用最多的版本；
• PHP 5 占有率还不是很高，不过也已经已经上升到了 8%，并且正在稳步增长中；
• PHP 4.3.9 以及更老的一些版本占了 46%；
• 中国网站（只是 .cn 域名）在分国家统计中基本都排在靠后的位置。
